After a rapid start from the hosts Barcelona are starting to find their rhythm, controlling possession for the last two minutes, getting comfortable with the ball and looking for the gaps in the home defence.

Stephan El Shaarawy is causing Barcelona a few problems as he floats between their defensive and midfield lines. A neat turn works space, but the forward just misplaces his pass as he attempts to send Giampaolo Pazzini clear.

Barcelona creep closer to the Milan box, but the hosts are back in numbers and shut down the visiting passing very well after cramping the Blaugrana players for space.
It is not working for Barcelona at the moment, as their usual fluent play is being successfully stifled. Numbers in defence and strong tackling form Milan hold them at bay.

Milan will be delighted with their first-half performance, as they hassled Barcelona all over the pitch to stifle the visitor's play. With Stephan El Shaarawy proving a threat in attack for the hosts they will be the happier at the interval, with the visitors failing to really test Christian Abbiati in the home goal, despite superior possession.

Milan are dealing with the late Barcelona pressure well, maintaining their impressive work rate when without the ball, before staying very cool in possession, running the clock down and starving the visitors of the chance to get back into it.

Clinical finishes from Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari after the break give the hosts a two-goal lead to take to Barcelona, who for all their possession never really threatened Christian Abbiati thanks to a great defensive showing.
